Ezekiel 20:36-38

³⁶ As I judged your ancestors in the Desert^[a] of Egypt, so will I judge you, says the Lord God. ³⁷ I will make you pass under the staff and bring you into the bond of the covenant. ³⁸ I will purge out those of you who revolt and rebel against me. I will bring them out of the land where they reside as aliens, but they will not set foot on the soil of Israel. Thus, you will know that I am the Lord.
